Learn to Draw What You See
February 7 - March 7 | Ages 8-11
A WINTER 2026 SPARK STUDIO CLASS
Around ages 8–11, something important happens in a child’s artistic development.
Kids begin to care whether their drawings look real.
They can clearly see the difference between what they imagine and what ends up on the page—and that gap between ambition and ability can be frustrating. Many kids decide they’re “not good at art,” not because they lack talent, but because they’ve never been taught how to draw what they see.
Drawing realistically isn’t a gift most of us are born with. But it’s a skill that can be learned—step by step, just like reading or riding a bike.
When kids are given simple tools for observation, proportion, and seeing shapes instead of symbols, their confidence returns. Drawing becomes fun again—not because it’s perfect, but because it finally makes sense.
Class Objectives
By the end of the course, students will:

“I love the semi private classes at a real working art studio. It's such a cool environment to learn and see art. Anytime I have popped in during a lesson the class is focused and calm. I love the range of projects, the class syllabus is highly creative and is rooted in the fundamentals of art. Dylan is an extremely talented artist, kind and incredibly patient with all their students. He really takes the time to know each child individually and adapts projects to them to fit their needs and/or strengths.”
