This two-day intensive workshop is designed for serious young artists ages 9–12 who want to deepen their skills in realistic watercolor painting. Students will work from high-quality wildlife references to create a finished animal portrait using observational drawing, layered washes, and careful attention to detail.
Instruction emphasizes patience, craftsmanship, and seeing like an artist. While the workshop is age-appropriate, it maintains high artistic standards and a calm, studio-style environment. Each student will complete a finished watercolor painting by the end of the second day.

Learning to Draw What You See is a five-week drawing course for children ages 8–11 that focuses on observational drawing and building confidence through foundational skills.
Many kids at this age begin to want their drawings to look realistic but haven’t been taught how to achieve that. This course teaches students how to slow down, really look at what’s in front of them, and draw what they see rather than what they think they see.
Students learn core drawing skills including:
Observational drawing
Breaking objects into simple shapes
Proportion and spatial relationships
Contour line drawing
Basic shading and light
Designed for beginners and developing artists, this class helps children understand how drawing works so they can draw more accurately, fix mistakes, and feel confident continuing their art practice.
No prior drawing experience is required.
